RUGBY PITCH CONSTRUCTION
Sports pitch construction contracts cover a variety of specifications. These can range from a single cricket wicket or football pitch up to multiple pitch training grounds, a new school or local authority facilities.
We have completed sports pitch construction work for local authorities, academies and local and professional sports clubs. Our approach on every job has the same level of commitment. We will provide expert advice on design, layout and drainage requirements and resolve any uncertainties regarding your project. We follow the Sport England standards for natural turf pitch construction. Find these in the links section below.
We can provide the groundwork and install primary and secondary drainage systems with our specialist machinery. Our expertise ensures that levels meet exacting specifications with our laser graders. We use our plant machinery to bury or remove stones and other debris, then cultivate the pitch. We supply and apply sports grade topsoil and grass seed or turf.
Once your project is complete we can provide a scheduled maintenance programme or a seasonal renovation to meet your needs and budget.

RUGBY PITCH RENOVATION
According to Sport England, “good maintenance practice is regarded as the most important factor influencing the success of a new pitch development”. Natural grass sports pitches require regular programmes of maintenance and renovation to ensure they become and remain high quality playing surfaces. It is important to restore the damage done to your playing field and to complete this with minimal impact to the club’s playable days.
During the winter months a sports club's main concern is the state of their pitch and although so far this year the weather has been dry the best solution for drainage issues caused by water logging and compaction is deep tine aeration. We aim to use machines that provide the most effective method of aeration. As such we have a specialist verti-drainer, a Wiedenmann Terra Spike XP from T H White. This is a deep aerator with an outstanding work depth of up to 40mm and a variable working speed. This results in exceptional quality of work. It also offers a real solution to the impact a wet, warm winter has on your sports pitch. The photo shows our verti-drainer in use at Wimbledon Rugby Club.
